In case you’ve been living under a rock, April is National Grilled Cheese Month and the best way to celebrate it is, of course, with Fromagination, a specialty cheese shop located right at the heart of downtown Madison, WI.
Throughout the entire month of April, Fromagination is serving their amazing grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch everyday. To serve up the perfect grilled cheese sandwiches, they cleverly assembled some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever; made with Wisconsin artisan cheeses, local vegetables, preserves and herbs, with bread from local bakery Batch Bakehouse; and I got a chance to preview their creations.
It was really hard to decide which grilled cheese I loved best, I mean, it’s grilled cheese…do I really have to choose? I gotta say, I really enjoyed them all but the ones I found myself craving more for were the Petit Frère™ (made with truffles and Expresso BellaVitano® with fresh tomato and honey), a grown up grilled cheese just packed with flavor, and the Red Rock and Swiss cheese (made with green tomato jam and Serrano ham), sweet and savory, just surpassing all the grilled cheeses you’ve ever had put together.
