Right below the amazing Brazilian restaurant – Samba, lies another amazing restaurant that serves classic bar, comfort food and more. From burgers to sandwiches, flatbread pizzas to fish tacos, The Side Door Grill and Tap provides a variety of deliciousness. They also have on tap over 30+ locally-brewed beers!
One of the best nachos I’ve had in Madison was here. This monster nacho is made with corn tortilla chips piled high with cheese, black beans, pico de gallo, jalapenos, sour cream and guacamole (add pulled pork for extra). Something about that drizzled-on-cheese that had me cleaning the plate. It had a lot of great flavor. Not something you can just whip up at home.
If you’re a fan of fish tacos, this is the place to be. Fried Tilapia served in flour tortillas with slaw, zesty bright pico de gallo and citrus sour cream, served with beans and rice. The Side Door Grill does all-you-can-eat Fish Tacos every Friday for only $9.99! They often have a special going on. “Like” their Facebook page to find out their daily specials.
This burger is one of my top burgers in Madison. Made with cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, haystack onions, horseradish aioli, and Big Slick Stout-infused mustard, every bite was as satisfying as the first. You get a nice char flavor from the patty mixed with just the right amount of sweetness and bite along with some textural crunch. Be prepared ladies and gents, The Side Door burger will leave you feeling so satisfied you may need a cigarette after.
Here are a few more items from their menu:
Grilled chicken breast wrapped in a flour tortilla with bacon, cheddar, tomatoes, guacamole and herbed ranch dressing
Cavatappi pasta tossed in cheese sauce, topped with cheddar and breadcrumbs, then oven baked.
House-made tater tots topped with shredded cheese, bacon, sour cream and green onions
A half chicken, fried and tossed with sesame-sweet chili sauce, served with steamed rice and Szechuan green beans.
The Side Door Grill and Tap serves up classic bar, comfort food and more. Whatever dish you try, you’d be surpise with the amount of flavor that comes out of the “casual” menu. Make your way to this treasure hidden below Samba Brazilian Grill.
